Besides being a senior university student, Mutia is currently active in the Ruang Pangan Community focusing on connecting food surplus owners with the underprivileged communities in Lampung. Together with her community, Mutia holds campaigns and education to reduce food waste in collaboration with coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants in Bandar Lampung. They also make food creative campaigns, process food waste, and promote sustainable food sources. Mutia concerns over food waste because food waste that rots in a landfill will produce methane gas that is hazardous and contribute to the greenhouse gas emission.
“So far, I have focused on offline campaigns. By joining We Create Change, I want to explore online campaign tactics so I can reach more supporters," said Mutia.
pendukung,” kata Mutia.

Irvandi is currently a member of the Advocacy Team at the Aceh Environmental Defenders Association (P2LH). Irvandi's awareness about the environmental conditions began with the rampant gold and iron ore minings in the sub-district where he lives, which pollute the river and the residents' drinking water sources. The pristine river with abundant fish, is now polluted and unusable for drinking. The fish are increasingly rare and the previously dense forests were cleared. The condition had impacted the local communities. Not to mention that the air is increasingly polluted due to land clearing and the company's heavy equipment that constantly passes by. Together with his team at P2LH Aceh, Irvandi maps and conducts investigations of communities affected by the mining activities, as an advocacy effort to improve environmental rescue. By joining the We Create Change program, Irvandi hopes to explore tactics in voicing his campaign in more effective ways in order to get wider public support.

Nova is a student of the Environmental Geography program who intensively studies land use issues and its sustainable management. Her concern of seeing massive conversions of green land into plantations, mining and settlements, for example in Java and Kalimantan, became a strong motivation for her to do something.
Nova is currently a member of the GoMuda (Young Group) community where she participates in various activities including planting mangroves, holding environmental events, campaigning on social media and working directly as a natural disaster volunteer. Nova has also been involved in a research on land use in the Bantul region, Yogyakarta, and joined an organization focusing on waste management in an effort to reduce pollution and maintain water reservoirs in her area.

Novi's experience in assisting a group of women farmers in Pulau Raman village, Batanghari regency, Jambi has made her even more motivated to continue speaking out about women's involvement in the environmental preservation. Novi is currently active in Beranda Perempuan, a community that focuses on empowering women farmers and sustainable food management in Jambi. In addition to the massive clearing for oil palm land which has affected the local’s agriculture, the excessive use of pesticides by the community is also an environmental issue that has become Novi's concern. Through the community of women farmers she supports, Novi tries to educate people about the dangers of pesticides and encourage organic farming.
Besides getting involved in environmental organizations, including Clean Batanghari and Simpul Gambut community, Novi also participates in various humanitarian organizations. In December 2022, for example, she, with other stakeholders, led a charity stage and an artwork exhibition of survivors of violence in Jambi.

Gilang is a communications and advocacy officer at the Auriga Nusantara, an environmental NGO. He is concerned that Indonesia is still highly dependent on coal energy. In 2019, Gilang had personal experience assisting residents of Winong village in Cilacap, the victims of acute respiratory infections due to the exposure to coal-fired power plant (PLTU) waste fumes. Dust from the PLTU sticks to trees, soil, floors and even enters residents' homes. The prolonged exposure has resulted in at least 150 residents suffering from respiratory infections.
"Meanwhile, the government is still going to increase the PLTU capacity by 13.8 gigawatts until 2030. This means Indonesia will build more power plants and more and more people will get respiratory infections," said Gilang. With the energy transition plan currently being discussed, Gilang is also exploring the issue of co-firing, which is discussed to be a substitute for coal-fired power plants. He hopes there will be more research and public discussions regarding this co-firing issue, because he is worried that the technique of burning biomass in the form of sawdust, wood pellets will actually threaten the forests and cause emissions. Gilang hopes that there will be strong regulations regarding co-firing.

Adam is a campaign and advocacy staff member at the Elang Association, an environmental NGO, in Pekanbaru, Riau. In his daily life, Adam assists residents in two villages in Kampung Dayun, Riau, located near the forest, to obtain their forest management rights, particularly in social forestry schemes. "In order to be able to voice people's rights, the method I use is to live in or live directly with them. By living with them, I can find out what their needs are. Hence, I can develop a communication strategy so that the government or other related parties pay attention to them.” Together with his team, Adam is currently facilitating residents fighting for community forest, particularly in obtaining legal documents as a legal basis for the community to obtain their rights to manage the land. Through the We Create Change program, Adam wants to enhance his skills in digital campaigns so he can voice the stories of the people he assists more effectively.

Asisah is currently joining the Green Youth Movement community in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Asisah's concern about environmental issues stems from the many disasters that have occurred in her area as a result of mining exploitation. Since then, she has started joining several communities and environmental organizations to educate residents about the impacts caused by mining.
One of the campaigns that Asisah wants to echo in the future is about the impact of the climate crisis on people on small islands. For example, due to the exploitation of sea sand, she witnessed the negative impact of rising sea waters and the damage to fishermen's settlements and surrounding communities. She urged the related companies to take responsibility for the losses. Together with the NGO coalition in Makassar, Asisah also conducted research to collect data as a basis for approaching and educating affected coastal residents.

Suci is now a senior student at a university in Central Java. The staggering number of criminal cases against environmental activists in Indonesia has bothered her. As a part of her support to the activists, Suci is conducting research on the protection of the environmental activists who undergo criminalization in her region, Rembang, Central Java, for her graduation paper. “I am interested to learn about the environmental damage caused by mining activities that do not comply with the environmental impact analysis (AMDAL) requirements. On one hand, mining seems to bring (economic) improvement. However, on the other hand, it’s also detrimental if the practice neglects the environment,” Suci said. She saw that her region started to suffer from the impact of the mining activities, such as flood as well as water scarcity due to lacking water catchment areas. “We got flooded during the rainy season while in the dry season, the land is arid and barren,” Suci said. Therefore, she wants to support the environmental activists in fighting for the residents rights and environment.
