Kristitian Jene, commonly known as Titin, has had many personal experiences related to the impacts of the climate crisis, which have driven her determination not to stay silent and actively campaign for climate crisis issues. One tangible impact of the climate crisis she experienced was facing a water crisis due to prolonged drought. The frequent crop failures have left a lasting negative experience for the people of Ende Lio, especially her farming family.
For Titin, who was born and raised in NTT, the climate crisis also has extraordinary impacts on women, such as food insecurity, health issues, and access to clean water. Therefore, as a radio broadcaster in Ende, Titin actively uses her platform to campaign for climate crisis issues by encouraging the collaboration of young people in the Coalition of Young People Caring for the Climate (Koalisi KOPI) community. Together with her community, Titin campaign through environmental discussions presented in stand-up comedy, poetry readings, live music, art exhibitions, and films.
Her dedication to climate issues goes beyond local boundaries. In 2023, Titin represented the voices from the Eastern region to participate in the Asian Pacific Climate Week in Johor, Malaysia. Titin is committed to raising awareness of the impacts of the climate crisis, including promoting education for women in Ende to cope with the effects of the climate crisis.
