Irwan

Irwan's experience and interest in children and education issues has not discouraged him to study the impact of environmental damage. Starting from his experience joining the Children Do Children See (CSCD) community in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Irwan was exposed to a lot of textile and plastic waste problems in Kupang and its surroundings. In the community, Irwan did a lot of fundraising by opening donations of clothes for the residents. The clothes were sold to fund the operation of free English tutoring classes for children in Kupang and its surrounding areas. Irwan's main role in the CSCD community is to provide education and campaigns around children's issues, especially combating bullying and violence against children. Since 2021, Irwan has been serving as a civil servant in Sabu Raijua Regency, an island in NTT which is adjacent with the Sabu Sea and the Indian Ocean. In the future, Irwan wants to further explore the relationship between the impact of climate change and environmental damage on children and community members on small islands.
