Born and raised in Cilegon, Banten amidst the pollution challenges from coal-fired power plants, Muhammad Raafi was driven to engage in environmental activism, which he began during the pandemic. As an active member of Fridays for Future Indonesia and Climate Rangers Jogja, Raafi has actively participated in various climate movements, including Global Climate Strikes, Global Power Up, and environmental initia- tives such as coastal cleanups and mangrove planting.
Currently studying International Relations at UGM, Raafi is focused on waste management campaigns in Yogyakarta and often utilizes social media platforms to advocate for the urgency of climate justice issues. Raafi collaborates with Climate Rangers Jogja and Fridays for Future to promote grassroots climate justice campaigns. As a content writer on crisis and climate justice issues, he contributes to discourses surrounding a fair and clean energy transition. With a diverse approach, Raafi strives to mobilize citizens and encourage the government to address environmental issues more comprehensively.
