Stevi

Stevi Rasinta Papuling is an activist who is concerned about environmental damage caused by mining, particularly in North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi. In her fight, Stevi plays the role of a community organizer at Yayasan Tanah Merdeka and has successfully organized three villages in the area. She tireless- ly raises issues of air pollution and marine exploitation by mining companies, which have stripped away the rights of fishing communities and harmed their livelihoods. Stevi is also actively collaborating with farmer solidarity alliances to resist mining permits that harm the community. Despite facing tragic incidents that claimed lives along their journey, Stevi and the alliance refuse to give up and continue to seek justice and environmental protection.

In addition to focusing on mining impacts, Stevi is passionate about promoting the involvement of women in decision-making processes. This stems from her experience at the grassroots level, where women's voices are often underrepresented when facing water crisis caused by mining activities.
