Ummi Kaltsum is a student majoring in Sociology Education at the State University of Makassar. She has deep concerns about the issue of intolerance in schools. During her school days, she personally experienced how the selection of student council members in her school prioritized candidates from a specific religion. For Ummi, leadership should be evaluated based on an individual's ability to make decisions, have good intentions, perform duties well, and communicate effectively. Ummi also emphasizes the principles of equality and inclusion in leadership, especially among the younger generation.
In addition to actively voicing tolerance issues, Ummi is also involved in various activities. She is part of the Sexual Harassment Community Unit on Campus and is a member of a forum that advocates for children's rights. She also volunteers for programs such as CREATE and Youth Camp, organized by HIVOS and USAID.
