Anjar

For a while now, Anjar Masiga, well known as Anjar, has been concerned about the waste issue in her area of Bulukumba. Refusing to stay idle, Anjar and her friends have taken independent action, starting from coordinating clean-up activities, educating the community about reducing plastic waste, collaborating in the making of eco bricks, and many other initiatives. According to Anjar, one of the challenges faced in the waste management movement they initiated is the lack of government involvement and the difficulty in advocating to policymakers. Despite the lack of regulations regarding waste separation in their area, which could serve as a legal basis to expand existing initiatives, Anjar hopes that this situation will change through future campaigns and collaborations. In addition to her involvement in waste management issues, Anjar is actively engaged in “Kolaborasi Biru”, a community that focuses on coral transplantation efforts in the coastal areas of Bulukumba. The goal is to rehabilitate ecosystems that are starting to deterio- rate. Anjar shares, "Snorkeling is my hobby, so being involved in the rehabilitation of coral and coastal ecosystems in Bulukumba means a lot to me personally."
