"As the child of a farmer, my life depends on the land, water, and weather. The climate crisis has made it difficult for my father to predict the weather," says Arami Kasih, starting the conversation. "The climate crisis also depletes the water supply in reservoirs, dries up vegetation, increases pests, and ruins harvests," she continues. According to Ara, as she is commonly called, every aspect of human life is connected to the climate. This includes the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. "Damaging the climate means damaging life," she says. Ara envisions a just energy transition, wetland restoration, and climate solutions that empower communities, particularly farmers, to prevent food crises.

Since 2020, Ara has been involved with the Climate Rangers Jogja community. Here, she delves deeper into the climate crisis, its connection to the fossil fuel industry, and the need for a just energy transition as a solution. Since 2022, Ara has been the Coordinator for Climate Rangers Jogja. Apart from her involvement with the Climate Rangers, Ara is also an artist who focuses on performing arts and exhibitions. She also writes children's storybooks and conducts book reading sessions for children and parents to raise awareness about climate justice issues.
