The young man from East Java has been an environmental activist since high school. Toriq saw people around his neighborhood throwing away waste and rubbish which ultimately polluted the environment, especially the river. Responding to this, he held a campaign inviting the public to clean up the rivers and beaches. Toriq admits that there must be a more systematic effort to make sustainable changes related to the problems he faces. He hopes to explore campaign ideas and share experiences with other We Create Change program participants for his campaign.
In addition, Toriq's interest in zero waste programs and environmental campaigns has resulted in several collaborative events in collaboration with the Central Java Environmental Body and partners from Pasar Kangen market. Toriq is also designing and developing a Green School program in his area.
