Antonia Maria Oy is a young woman from Waingapu, East Nusa Tenggara, who is actively involved in “Kelompok Orang Muda Peduli Iklim", or a youth group on climate awareness. As a member of this group, her focus is on advocating for climate crisis issues, including waste management. One of the group's activities is to provide education to students about the increasingly critical state of the earth and the efforts that can be made to preserve the environment through the "Goes to School" program.
In addition to environmental campaigning, Nia, as she is commonly known, is also deeply concerned about the issue of plastic waste management in her area, Waingapu. This is primarily due to the lack of Temporary Waste Disposal Sites (TPS) and the absence of a Final Processing Site (TPA), as well as inade- quate plastic waste management facilities. This situation leaves the community with no other option but to dispose of their waste in improper places. According to her, some waste disposal sites are located very close to residential areas, including hospitals, which poses a significant problem.
