Isna Hanny Puspitaningtyas, or Tyas for short, has a special interest in forestry and hydro-meteorological disaster issues. She is involved in various forest conservation activities, such as the Sisik Naga Expedition in Purbalingga, Central Java, in 2020. The expedition aimed not only to list the flora and fauna in the area but also to identify the social, economic, and cultural potential in the forest's surrounding areas. The Sisik Naga mountainous region in Purbalingga is often threatened by issues such as illegal logging, deforestation, poaching, and non-environmentally friendly mass tourism.
Through these experiences, Tyas realizes the importance of forest preservation to prevent social and natural disasters. She also seeks to inventory all aspects related to the environment, social, economic, and cultural issues as a basis for advocacy and conservation efforts. In addition to focusing on forest conservation issues, Tyas is also interested in engaging with various communities outside of Java and expanding her knowledge about river and coastal conservation.
