Youth Leadership Program for Social Change
Muda Bersua(ra) is a leadership program initiated by WeSpeakUp.org to build capacity, foster networking, and encourage collaboration among young people in Eastern Indonesia. We believe that young people play a vital role as drivers of social, environmental, and climate justice change.
How We Drive Change Together with Young People
Participatory Approach
We begin each program with an in-depth assessment through surveys, focus group discussions, and community interviews. The goal is to ensure that the materials, methods, and strategies align with the actual needs of young people on the ground.
Intensive & Practical Training
Participants took part in a 4-day residential workshop as well as an open coaching clinic. The curriculum covered campaign strategies, storytelling, digital security, and artivism—all led by experienced facilitators.
Capacity Building & Networking
We create a safe space for learning and collaboration. Participants not only gain practical skills but also build connections with other changemakers across issues and regions.
Mindfulness & Collective Care
We believe that social movements can only be sustainable if their leaders are healthy and resilient. That is why Muda Bersua(ra) emphasizes mindfulness practices, moments of reflection, and psychosocial support.
Long-Term Impact
Our program alumni stay connected through the We Create Change and She Creates Change networks, enabling them to support one another, collaborate, and amplify the movement’s impact in their respective communities.

Muda Bersua(ra) operates in several regions across Indonesia as a youth leadership program dedicated to social change. Each session brings together participants, mentors, and the local community in a collaborative learning environment.

Since its inception, WeSpeakUp.org has trained more than 170 changemakers from over 25 provinces. Our alumni have successfully created collective movements that address issues of climate justice, gender equality, and environmental protection.
